This tour of Northern India is probably the most captivating holiday that you can spend
in your lifetime and is one of the hottest destinations in the tourist map of the world.
The tour starts off in Delhi, the capital of the country with its layers of history, and continues with Agra, a city whose charm lies in its blend of a grand past (Taj Mahal) and a lively present, and ends at Jaipur, the city of lavish palaces and rugged forts.
The best time to visit the golden triangle is between October to March. Agra can be also visited between end of June to September.
Tour Schedule :
Day 1 : Arrive at Delhi. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi - Jaipur: After breakfast, we take a city tour of Old Delhi and visit the Red Fort comprising exquisite palaces reflecting Mughal architecture, the largest mosque in India, the Jama Masjid and Rajghat, a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, we drive to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur covering a distance of 139 miles in about 4 hours. On arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.
Day 3 : At Jaipur : After breakfast, we visit the grand Amber Fort, which encloses exquisite palaces and a beautiful temple in marble dedicated to the goddess Kali. In the afternoon, visit Jaipur’s landmark, the multi-storied Hawa Mahal with the bustling bazaar below, City Palace Museum and the Jantar Mantar Observatory built in 1728. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.
Day 4 : Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra : After breakfast, drive to the ‘city of the Taj’, Agra covering a distance of about 144 miles in about 5 hours. En route visit the imperial “ghost city” of Fatehpur Sikri constructed of sandstone and built by Emperor Akbar. Upon arrival in Agra, transfer and check into the hotel. In the afternoon, take a city tour and visit ‘one of the wonders of the world’, the Taj Mahal with its majestic marble domes and elegant minarets,. Overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.
Day 5 : Agra – Delhi : In the morning visit the Agra Fort built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and the marble tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah built by Empress Noor Jehan for her father. After lunch, we drive to Delhi covering a distance of 124 miles in about 4 hours. On arrival, transfer and check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 6 : At Delhi : Today we take a city tour of New Delhi and visit Humayun's Tomb, one of the city’s finest historical sites, the Qutub Minar, a soaring tower of victory dating back to 1199 AD and drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan, the residence of the President of India, Rajpath and India Gate, among other landmarks. Tour concludes at the end of the day.
